Fabbrica Orobia 2010
Inside the large Fabbrica Orobia hangar, Claudio Onorato presents “Apparitions and magical disappearances”, a mazy path one has to discover step after step, in which the visitor is invited to explore environments with different features, get through traps and unexpected events.
To approach the work of Claudio Onorato is like to cross the threshold of a magical space, which reminds of the ancient initiation rituals in the pagan world. His works tell stories of metropolitan life, presenting the different characters within a narrative fabric that has the pace of a fairy tale. As in oral storytelling, the fate of his characters unfolds along a choral path, which belongs to no one, but falls in everyone’s lot. People, animals and things (prostitutes, cashiers and businessmen, cats, mice and bats, street lamps, buildings and rails) enter and leave the scene and then reappear a little further, in the next picture or in the previous one. The visitor is invited to pause on the images in order to discover their traps and hidden actors.
